Thomas Memorial Baptist Church is a body of believers united by our desire to follow Jesus Christ and committed to fulfilling the purposes set forth in our Mission Statement. If you desire to join with us and will be supportive of the beliefs, fellowship, and mission of our church, we warmly invite you to become a member. Here are the three steps to becoming a member:
1. Present yourself for membership during the invitation of any Worship Service.
At the close of each Worship Service, our Pastor will extend an invitation for you to come forward. You will be greeted by him and he will present you to the congregation as a candidate for membership.
1. Complete New Members Class.
Every new member of TMBC must complete our New Members Class. You will be guided through our beliefs, mission and vision of the church. All new members MUST be in agreement with ALL beliefs before being accepted into the membership of TMBC.
3. Express your desire for membership through one of the following means:
- By profession of faith
If you will receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord and follow him in baptism by immersion, we will welcome you into our fellowship.
- By transfer of membership from another Baptist church
As a Baptist whose membership is elsewhere, should God direct you here we will be pleased to welcome you into our church family. We will take care of the appropriate details for the transferring of your membership. You need only to present yourself for membership.
- By statement of faith
If you know in your heart that you have a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ and desire to be a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church, we will be happy to receive you. If you were once a member of a Baptist church or your records are not available, we will accept you upon your statement of these conditions. If your church membership is currently in another denomination and you have not been baptized by immersion as a testimony of your salvation, we would expect you to be baptized in obedience to Christ before being added to our church family.
